Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Usage analytics (all users). Jourvelope uses PostHog to understand how the app is used. This runs for every user and currently cannot be turned off from within the app. It includes:

• App interaction events — screens you open, and actions like creating a goal, recording or playing a video, checking in on a streak, or changing a setting.
• The text you type as a goal or journey title (sent as part of the "goal created" event so we can see the feature is being used).
• A random identifier generated for your device/install, plus basic device info (device model, OS version, app version) attached automatically by PostHog.

None of this is linked to your name, email address, or any personal identity — Jourvelope has no account system, so we have no identity to link it to.

Subscription verification (Jourvelope+ subscribers only). If you choose to subscribe, we use RevenueCat to verify your purchase with Google Play and unlock premium features. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous identifier to your device to track your subscription status — again, not your name or email, since there is nothing to sign in with. This only happens if you subscribe; if you don't, no purchase data exists.

Google Play Billing handles the actual payment. We never see or store your card details.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account credentials — Jourvelope has no sign-up or sign-in flow of any kind.

2. What stays on your device

Everything you record or create in the app is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded:

• Your video recordings, in full (only their duration and a few labels are ever mentioned to analytics — never the video itself)
• Your goals and journey titles
• Streak, day count, and reminder preferences
• App settings

None of the above ever leaves your device as content. We (the developers) cannot see or access it.

3. Permissions we request

• Camera — to record your daily video entries.
• Microphone — to capture audio for those videos.
• Internet — used only to send the anonymous analytics events described above and to verify Jourvelope+ purchases. It is never used to upload your videos or journal content.
• Notifications — to send your daily reminder, if you enable one.

4. Third-party services

Jourvelope uses two third-party services, each acting only on our behalf:

• PostHog — anonymous product analytics. See their privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — subscription management for Jourvelope+. See their privacy policy.

5. Deleting your data

Jourvelope has no accounts, so there is nothing to delete on a server — everything lives on your device, and you are always in full control of it:

• Open Settings → Clear all data inside the app to immediately and permanently delete all recordings, goals, streaks, and preferences from your device.
• Or simply uninstall Jourvelope — Android removes everything the app stored locally.

Because the analytics and subscription identifiers described in Section 1 are anonymous and not linked to your name or email, we have no way to look up or delete a specific person's record on request. If you'd like to ask us anything about this, email aliatwork364@gmail.com.

6. Children

Jourvelope is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Any change will be reflected in the next app update — you can always review the current policy before upgrading.
