Privacy Policy

The short version. Your videos and journal entries live on your device only — we never see them. The only time we collect anything is if you choose to subscribe to Jourvelope+, in which case we use Google Sign-In and RevenueCat to secure your subscription across devices.

1. What we collect

Free users: Nothing. Jourvelope does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or usage data through the app. There is no sign-up, no account, no email address, no username, no advertising ID, and no third-party tracker embedded in the app.

Jourvelope+ subscribers: If you choose to upgrade, we ask you to sign in with Google so we can:

  • Verify your subscription and unlock premium features on your device.
  • Let you restore that subscription on other devices where you sign in with the same Google account.

What we store on our side when you sign in:

  • Your Google account email and display name (via Firebase Authentication).
  • An anonymous identifier linked to your Google account and to your active subscription (via RevenueCat).

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand aggregated feature usage (screens opened, actions taken). We never associate that with your identity for advertising, and we never sell it.

2. What stays on your device

Everything the app records or you create is stored locally on your device:

  • Your video recordings (saved to your app's private storage)
  • Your goals and journey titles
  • Streak, day count, and reminder preferences
  • App settings

None of the above ever leaves your device. We (the developers) cannot see any of it.

3. Permissions we request

The app asks for two permissions, and only uses them for the feature you're using:

  • Camera — to record your daily video entries.
  • Microphone — to capture audio for those videos.

The app does not request the Internetpermission. That's a deliberate architectural choice: even if the app tried to send data anywhere, the operating system would block it.

4. Third-party services

The app itself uses no third-party services or SDKs for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or user identification.

If you visit this website (jourvelope.taskaroapp.com) and join the launch waitlist, your email address is submitted to a Google Form and stored in a Google Sheet we control. That email is only used to notify you when the app launches. It is not tied to your app usage in any way (the app never sees your email). You can request removal by contacting us.

5. Deleting your data

You are always in full control:

  • Open Settings → Clear all data inside the app to permanently delete all recordings, goals, and files from your device.
  • If you signed in for Jourvelope+, open Settings → Delete account to also remove your Google identity from our authentication system and unlink your subscription from your account. See the Delete Account page for full details, including how to cancel an active Google Play subscription.
  • Or uninstall Jourvelope — Android will remove everything the app stored locally.

6. Children

Jourvelope does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Since we collect nothing at all, this policy applies universally.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Any change will be reflected in the next app update — you can always review the current policy before upgrading.
