Goal video journal

A video journal built around your goals.

Progress is hard to see while you're living it. A short video a day makes it visible.

Jourvelope turns each goal into a journey of short recordings, then puts your first day next to your latest, so gradual change stops being invisible.

How it works

From a goal to a record of how you changed.

  1. 01

    Goal

Name what you want to change, learn, build or become.

  2. 02

    Journey

The goal gets its own journey, open-ended or a set length.

  3. 03

    Daily video

Record up to 30 seconds: what you did, how it felt.

  4. 04

    Timeline

Recordings line up by day, in the order you lived them.

  5. 05

    Transformation

Day 1 next to today. The change becomes visible.

Why video

You can't see change you're living through.

When you practise every day, each day looks like the last. Memory smooths the rest away. Six weeks in, it can feel like nothing has changed, even when a lot has.

A written log tells you what you did. A video shows how you were: how the chord sounded, how the lift moved, how you talked about the project. Put Day 1 next to Day 60 and the difference is there to see.

Setting up a goal

How a goal becomes a journey.

Creating a journey takes about a minute.

  • Name it

“Learn guitar”, “Run a 10K”, “Ship the app”. Whatever you'll recognise later.

  • Describe the goal

What you're working toward, in your words. It stays on your phone.

  • Pick a category

Fitness, learning, business, health, personal, or your own.

  • Choose a length

    7, 14, 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days, or no end at all.

  • Set a reminder

An optional nudge at a time that suits you.

  • Record Day 1

The entry everything else gets compared to.

What to record

What to record at each stage.

A little structure makes the before-and-after much clearer.

StageRecordWhy
Day 1Where you're starting, shown and said plainlyIt's your reference point
First two weeksWhat you did, what felt hardCaptures the awkward beginning you'll forget
The middleThe same exercise or angle, regularlyMakes entries comparable
Milestones (Day 30, 90…)Repeat your Day 1 entryThe clearest before-and-after
Bad weeksA short honest check-inShows how you got through

Transformation

See the change.

Once a journey has a few days in it, Jourvelope puts your first recording beside your latest. That comparison is what the whole journal builds toward.

With Pro, compare Day 1 with any milestone or day, play Day 1 through every milestone to today in sequence, and turn the journey into a Journey Recap.

Examples

Goals people document.

Anything that changes gradually is worth a journey.

  • Fitness

Film the same lift or pose from the same angle. Strength and form show up on video long before the scale moves.

  • Learning a skill

Play, speak or draw the same thing on Day 1 and Day 60. You'll hear and see the difference.

  • Building something

A weekly look at the project: what exists now, what you learned, what's next.

  • Health and recovery

Short check-ins on how you feel and move. Useful to look back on, and sometimes to show a professional.

  • Personal growth

Confidence, habits, a new chapter. Watch how the way you talk about it changes.

  • A 30-day challenge

A fixed start and finish, one prompt a day. Try the 30-day challenge.

FAQ

About goal journeys.

What is a goal video journal?

A video journal organised around one goal. Instead of recording about everything, you record short entries about a single thing you're working on, so the entries form a before-and-after you can actually compare.

How is this different from a habit tracker?

A habit tracker records whether you did something. A goal video journal records what it looked and sounded like while you did it. Jourvelope shows your consistency too, but the point is the visual record, not the checkmarks.

How long should a goal journey be?

Long enough for change to show. 30 days works well for a first journey; 90 days is often where differences become obvious. In Jourvelope you can pick 7, 14, 30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days, or leave it open-ended.

Can I track more than one goal?

Yes. Each goal is its own journey with its own timeline. The free plan allows up to 3 active journeys at once; Pro removes the limit.

What if my goal isn't visual?

Record yourself talking about it. For goals like confidence, a career change or a hard year, how you speak about it changes over time, and that's worth seeing too.
