Video journal prompt generator
Press record, forget what to say? Pick a category and get one question to answer. One prompt per entry is plenty.
Why this goal, and why now?
How to use a prompt
- Answer it in under a minute. It's a starting point, not an essay question.
- Don't rehearse. The unpolished version is the one worth keeping.
- Reuse prompts. The same question answered a month apart shows you what changed.
All 75 prompts
The generator draws from these categories. The full list, with advice on when to use each group, is in 75 video journal prompts.
- Starting prompts: For Day 1, or the first week, when talking to your phone still feels strange.
- Daily reflection prompts: For ordinary days, when nothing big happened but you still want to show up.
- Goal-progress prompts: For checking in on the goal itself: what moved, what stalled, what's next.
- Difficult-day prompts: For bad days. Keep them short. Recording on a hard day is the point, not the polish.
- Personal-growth prompts: For stepping back from the daily detail and looking at who you're turning into.
- Fitness prompts: For training journeys. Say the numbers out loud, but also how it felt.
- Learning-a-skill prompts: For guitar, languages, drawing, code: anything you get better at by practising.
- Future-self prompts: For entries you're recording on purpose to be watched months from now.
